Worship of God in the High Places

Time and time again, I have observed people building places of worship on mountain tops. Daunting places, a seemingly impossible task. I took this picture in Paro, Bhutan, last year. Tiger's Nest Monastery. One has to climb 900 meters from base camp to reach this monastery. Took me 2 hours. But why mountain tops???? Any answers?
